Mabwe Minerals Inc. (MBMI) Collates Strong Partner Base to Support Master Supply Agreement

Mabwe Minerals is focused on acquiring, developing, and producing minerals & metals with a particular focus on barite. Leveraging the expertise of its Zimbabwe-based affiliate and the resources of strategic partners, Mabwe Minerals operates under a well-planned business strategy to capitalize on the growing demand for high-grade barite.

Through its Zimbabwe affiliate, Mabwe Minerals owns 100 percent of the mineral & metal rights to Dodge Mine in Zimbabwe. Mabwe Minerals Zimbabwe also holds a 25 percent stake in WGB Kinsey & Company, Zimbabwe’s most experienced mining and construction company.

Mabwe Minerals earlier this year secured a 3 million ton long-term master supplier agreement for American Petroleum Institute (API) grade barite with Baker Hughes, Inc. (BHI), a $21.6 billion oilfield service provider.

To fulfill the logistics of such an agreement, Mabwe Minerals has established key partnerships to assist with the marketing, distribution, and transport of barite.

•           Steinbock Minerals specializes in the worldwide distribution of industrial minerals with an established barite customer base. Steinbock Minerals is Mabwe Minerals’ global marketing, sales and distribution arm.
•           Yasheya Limited, engaged in the worldwide shipment of industrial minerals, provides Mabwe Minerals’ shipment and delivery services.
•           Mabwe Minerals has also formed a business relationship with PHI Commodities, the largest grain importer to Harare, Zimbabwe, out of the Port of Beira, Mozambique. Through this partnership Mabwe Minerals has exclusive rail wagon load rights from the Shamva Rail Depot direct to the port utilizing PHI Commodities’ fleet of express train systems.

Through its relationship with PHI Commodities, Mabwe Minerals has formed alliances with the National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ), the Mozambique Railway Authorities (CFM), and the Shamva Rail Depot located within 10 miles of Mabwe Minerals’ Dodge Mine project.

Combining its equipment, personnel, and management with the resources of its strategic alliances, Mabwe Minerals has emerged as a turn-key organization with a strong regional presence prepared for steady barite production.
