The possibilities are endless for the Big Tree Group, an
international toy company that supplies, distributes, and manufactures toys and
related products through two subsidiaries based in China and Brunei. Big Tree’s
headquarters are located in Shantou City in the Guangdong province, a fitting
setting as this region of China, which represents 70% of toy sales, is the most
important toy production and export base in the country.
Big Tree is an authorized agent for over 8,000 toy
manufacturers in China, offering more than 180,000 types of toy products from
remote control, seasonal, and baby toys to activity sets and sporting goods,
and sources some 300,000 toys made of plastic, wood, metal, wool, and
electronic materials that primarily target children—from infants to teenagers.
Big Tree’s toys represent the latest trends in the industry and have an
assortment of functions, including learning, physical exercise, and interactive
play.
Customers for Big Tree’s toy sourcing business consist of
distributors, trading companies, and wholesalers primarily located in mainland
China, Hong Kong, Europe, Mexico, South America, Asia, and the United States.
Customers are able to view the company’s extensive inventory and make purchases
through its website or at its toy showroom of approximately 21,500 square feet
in Shantou, China.
Big Tree’s Shantou subsidiary also provides procurement
services for global wholesalers and toy distributors. The company’s service
offerings include identifying, evaluating, and engaging local manufacturers to
supply toys as well as arranging for original equipment manufacturers to
construct toys according to the exact specifications of its customers.
In a move to expand its business, Big Tree Shantou developed
a construction toy in 2009 to increase critical and imaginative thinking for
kids. This proprietary toy referred to as the Magic Puzzle 3D is made up of
plastic pieces that can be pieced together to make an assortment of objects,
such as flowers and robots. In 2010 and 2011, Big Tree registered patents for
the toy’s utility model and appearance design in mainland China and Hong Kong.
The Magic Puzzle is currently promoted and distributed in China’s domestic
market through Big Tree Shantou’s online store and at several retail locations.
Since it was founded in 2003, Big Tree has gained a sizeable
customer base in Asia and Europe. The company is now looking to enhance its
global presence by expanding its distribution throughout North America, the
world’s largest toy market, and South America.
