Oriens Travel & Hotel Management Corp. (OTHM) President Announces Resignation

Oriens Travel & Hotel Management, the Next Generation International Hotel Brand Operator, announced recently that Mr. Ken Chua, President of Oriens, plans to resign from the Company. The pending action is anticipated to go into effect this week along with a workable succession plan. The plan is also expected to include a new executive officer.

A spokesman for the company stated, “In light of recent events, along with those changes soon to be implemented for the growth and well-being of the Company, the timing for Mr. Chau’s resignation is best for both Oriens’ and its shareholders.”

A formal announcement is planned once the resignation has been fully tendered by Mr. Chua and accepted by Oriens’ Board of Directors.

Oriens uses a proprietary online booking / payment processing engine which is designed to execute room reservations made through the Hotel PURE web site. The functionalities and applications of the program have expanded to service standalone hotels’ web sites, including the addition of a room inventory control program, real time booking and payment processing. Oriens integrates this booking engine directly into individual Members hotels’ websites, and links the database with the GDS System and over 2000 Internet travel booking web sites such as Expedia, Travelocity, Orbitz and others. The system is linked with 650,000 travel agencies worldwide.

In acknowledgement the shift of consumers going from booking their travel needs with conventional travel agencies, to sourcing the information directly and eventually booking travel arrangements on the Internet, Oriens has developed a proprietary system to accommodate this new trend. With a comprehensive product range, Oriens will serve this market by providing the ability to book into Hotel PURE properties.
