Many of us are aware of so-called “designer” brands – those high-end
labels like Porsche, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Giorgio Armani. Many of us also
know about the concept of having customized items like tailored suits,
ergonomic chairs and a car with all the bells and whistles you want and need,
just for you.
Having “designer” and “custom” brands of items together can be a very
pricey, premium proposition in and of itself. But what about a renewable
resource like water? Water is quite common, and bottled water – or natural
spring water – has become quite the health rage over the last couple of
decades. But how can there be “designer” water? And how can it be customized?
Isn’t production of such expensive?
Boreal Water Collection, Inc. (OTC: BRWC) is cornering the market on
designer, customized water. Water is customized when it can be bottled in a
number of different ways for various purposes – marketing, promotion, internal
use or for an event. Water can be designer if it has near-perfect color, flavor
and pH balance and it comes from a special, rare source and a company has
exclusive rights to that source.
Boreal Water Collection has that “designer” tag figured out by owning
exclusive rights to a stream in the Catskill Mountains of New York state, which
has a pristine level of water that is clean and clear and fits the high-end
standards of such prominent brands as Porsche, Sake Fifth Avenue and Ritz
Carlton – all of which have used Boreal Water Collection brands like Leisure
Time, Sapphire and Saint-Elie.
Revenue for Boreal Water Collection was up 14 percent in the third
quarter of 2014 compared to the same quarter in 2013, and the company is
projecting similar growth above and beyond the projected general growth of the
bottled-water industry of 6-9 percent. With bottled water being a competitive
space, to have such growth potential in the sector is seen as an unusual
opportunity, but Boreal Water Collection can be deemed an unusual company with
intriguing potential.
