Aspen Group, a
nationally accredited online postsecondary education company, has announced the
creation of a unique mathematical formula that measures whether Aspen
University alumni are earning a return-on-investment (ROI) from their education
investment.
According to the
independent annual alumni survey conducted in December, alumni that graduated
from Aspen University between three and five years ago have earned a 162
percent average ROI, while those that graduated more than five years ago have
earned a 167 percent average ROI.
Michael Mathews,
chairman and CEO of Aspen Group, emphasized the importance of affordable
education and the value of the survey results.
“It’s a travesty
that at hundreds of institutions in the U.S., college students are more likely
to default on their student loans than graduate,” Mathews stated in the news
release. “That’s not a return-on-investment, that’s economic jail. At Aspen
University we proudly graduate 58 percent of our students and we’re committed
to offering tuition rates that are affordable enough for the majority of our
students to ‘pay-as-they-go’ with cash so they graduate with minimal debt. That
is the critical combination necessary to put students on a path for economic
prosperity.”
The independent
alumni survey was conducted by Target Research Group among Aspen alumni that
graduated from Aspen University three or more years ago. The ROI formula
measures the amount of incremental compensation alumni have earned since graduation
divided by the total cost of the Aspen University program.
Results demonstrate
that Aspen Alumni quickly benefitted from affordable, higher education.
“We’re proud of our
alumni for achieving astonishing returns on their education investment in such
a short period of time. These results prove that by offering an affordably
priced program with rigorous academics, students will quickly achieve the
economic and social benefits that higher education promises,” said Mathews.
