Saleen Automotive,
the American specialty high-performance parts manufacturer and
engineering/design studio that has given birth to such street and track marvels
as the N2O Focus (Ford) and the limited-production, hand-built Saleen S7
supercar, was excited to report a major spread in this month’s Motor Trend on
their supercar.
The multi-photo
spread on SLNN’s jet fighter for the street, which should drop sometime here in
the next two years and be able to easily compete with the Ferrari 458,
Lamborghini Gallardo, or McLaren 12c when it comes to price and performance,
touts the incredible story behind this remarkable American supercar. Visionary
founder of SLNN and the company’s CEO, Steve Saleen, a former race driver
turned high performance auto parts and build manufacturer, has moved the ball a
long ways down the field to this point. Now, as the company stands on the cusp
of rolling out a truly next-gen American supercar, accolades like this from the
magazine which hands out the coveted Motor Trend Car of the Year award, makes
the entire SLNN progression look like a real Cinderella story.
Saleen, obviously
pleased by the announcement and quality of the upcoming full-color spread,
thanked Motor Trend for helping throw a spotlight on the company’s move to
dominate high-end auto markets with their decidedly American supercar. Saleen
assured investors, as well as future drivers of the vehicle alike, that the
company fully intends to deliver on their already esteemed brand, which has
come to be known for setting the bar in automotive design and performance
engineering, both for the street and the increasingly competitive circuit.
The company plans to
draw on existing strategic partnerships like those with Hidden Creek
Industries, automotive design guru Phil Frank and Ray Mallock Ltd., to go
beyond the earlier prototype featured in the spread and Saleen indicated that
the company would update the public as new renderings become available. The S7,
once complete according to Saleen, will represent an essential chunk of the
company’s overall vehicle footprint, which now includes Camaros, Challengers,
Mustangs, and even a compellingly powerful yet efficient electric vehicle
design. SLNN sure has put its flag down quickly as a real force to be reckoned
with in the automotive space and with plans to continue innovating from a
design and engineering standpoint, as well as expand their nationwide presence through
aftermarket parts, various retail services and vehicle sales (not to mention a
nicely developing lifestyle accessory and apparel business), SLNN is definitely
a company to keep an eye on ($0.385 as of 1 p.m. EST, up 1.32% for the day).
The fact that Steve
Saleen is noted worldwide as the most successful Mustang tuner in the business
today speaks volumes about what the company is doing here, moving to satisfy
the demand in the supercar market for real street cred and robust, American
design. Motor Trend strikes fast and deep among the target market too, this
spread should be a great bump for SLNN as they race towards the finish line on
their S7 roll-out.
