OBJ Enterprises, Inc. (OBJE) to Empower Indie Game Developers with Platform for Creation of Next “Flappy Bird”

OBJ Enterprises today announced that its gaming division, Obscene Interactive, is looking to develop a new online platform that enables independent game designers to create, publish, and market new gaming titles. The company says that this platform will help “indie” developers, as they are known, to create and monetize popular gaming titles such as “Flappy Bird”, a simple but hugely popular mobile game.

Developed by indie game developer Dong Nyugen, Flappy Bird had accrued 50 million downloads and was earning an average of $50,000 per day. Over this past weekend, Nguyen removed it from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. This game developer has also seen hits with its titles Super Ball Juggling and Shuriken Block, both of which have been hovering around the App Store’s top ten downloads.

OBJ Enterprises is looking to give indie game developers the same opportunities for creating hit gaming titles by innovating a platform that will make independent game development and marketizing easier than before. With that in place, indie game developers might be able to enjoy even stronger profitability.

There’s a market out there of more than 500 million mobile gamers worldwide spending more than $9 billion annually on apps,” said OBJ Enteprises CEO Paul Watson. “We plan to capture a share of that growing market by helping indie developers to design and deliver gaming apps that will make Flappy Bird look like a passing fad.”

OBJ Enterprises has already teamed up with fledging game developers to develop hot new gaming titles for mobile devices. Just last year, the company saw its first revenues from the games Phantasmic, Bluff Wars 2.0, and Creature Tavern. It plans many new releases this year as well.
