Today, Identive Group said it will introduce its Hirsh Velocity™ 3.5 security management solution at the ASIS International conference to be held on September 10-13, 2012 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Identive Group is a top provider of products and services for the security industry. Hirsh Velocity 3.5 represents a major step forward for security professionals, allowing increased real-time access to information for greater levels of safety and security for people, buildings, and other assets.
“Hirsch Velocity 3.5 is a next generation software solution designed to deliver superior security and interoperability while building on the more than 25 years of reliability and real world experience our solutions are famous for. Velocity 3.5 now enables security professionals to access real-time information across a wide range of devices and environments, enabling greater levels of safety and control of people and assets. New features include information delivery to mobile devices, simplified user interfaces and real-time access to the latest threat assessment information,” said Mark Allen, vice president of technology for Identity Management and Cloud Solutions at Identive.
Hirsch Velocity 3.5 easily integrates physical access and IT infrastructures in a powerful and easy-to-use security management solution. Velocity 3.5 can be scaled from one user to an entire enterprise connecting thousands of users. Utilized by IT, security, facility management, and guard personnel in commercial, governmental, and educational institutions worldwide, Velocity 3.5 is the single point of integration for access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance, and recording, making photo ID badges, smart cards, biometrics, as well as interoperability with other building and business systems.
A significant new feature of the Velocity 3.5 software is a console that can operate on the internet or an intranet that greatly enhances accessibility to information, allowing data to flow on demand through almost any computer browser. Now, security administrators can monitor alarms even if they are not in the office and are off-site. Velocity 3.5 will provide faster access to administrative views such as floor plans and monitoring of alarms. User access to external video has also been expanded.
Some of Identive’s target customers require the highest level of security protection and Velocity 3.5 meets that need. Users can tie into the U.S. Transportation Security Administration’s No-Fly List, have Active Directory user synchronization, and have point level emailing. The federal version of Velocity 3.5 allows for the logging of all Personal Identification Verification (PIV) identity credentials, along with PIV-1 and CIV credentials. Velocity 3.5 can deactivate access obtained with identity cards if access credentials are restricted or revoked. Real-time/near-time SCVP digital certificate checks can also now be made using the Velocity Certificate Service.
Identive Group provides secure identification solutions that combine the convenience of radio frequency identification (RFID) with the security of smart card technology to enable people to easily and securely interact with and manage digital devices, systems, and data. The company’s offerings include hardware products, software, integrated systems, and services to address the global markets for credential management, physical and logical/cyber access control, integrated ID solutions, and a host of near-field communications (“NFC”) and RFID-enabled applications for customers in the government, enterprise, consumer, education, healthcare, and transportation sectors. Hirsch Velocity 3.5 will be commercially available through Identive’s global network of channel partners by the end of September.
