Dehaier Medical Systems announced that it has obtained State Food and Drug Administration approval for DHR-CPAP-C5, one of the company’s primary proprietary homecare medical devices. The validity period for the SFDA approval is four years.
Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) has become the first-line treatment for obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS), as well as for some forms of central sleep apnea. CPAP works by creating a pneumatic splint for the upper airway. Pressurized air is sent through air tubing and a mask (generally a nose mask) and through the nose to the upper airway by means of a flow generator.
