LoJack recently announced that the company’s new self-powered Stolen Vehicle Recovery System for construction equipment ranked in an Equipment Today poll titled “Contractors’ Top 50 New Products of the Year.” The poll, published annually by the Cygnus periodical, awards products that appear in Equipment Today during the previous twelve-month period.
LoJack is focused on the stolen vehicle recovery market. The company states that since its formation, it has recovered nearly $4 billion in stolen assets, including cars, construction equipment, and motorcycles. The LoJack system utilizes a self-powered RF transceiver that, once installed in equipment or a vehicle that is reported as stolen, activates and emits a signal that local law enforcement can track.
The annual Contractors’ Top 50 New Products poll is decided by the number of reader responses asking for more information on a specific product featured in Equipment Today, as well as the number of pageviews each item received on the publication’s website, ForConstructionPros.com. Further refining of the list was conducted via online polling.
Courtney DeMilio, Senior Director of National Commercial Sales, LoJack Corporation, said, “We are honored to have our breakthrough recovery system acknowledged by so many readers to be among the top contractor products introduced in 2012. The advantages offered by this system have been embraced by the industry and underscore that LoJack is staying a step ahead of today’s thieves who could potentially delay or, worse, cost a contractor a job due to equipment theft. This system was developed completely in response to our customers, who were seeking a recovery solution that protected a broader array of equipment, particularly those that do not have a power source. This feature, combined with the fact that it can be installed in more locations on a piece of equipment, make it an ideal solution for today’s equipment owner.”
