Firemans Contractors, a commercial contractor offering B2B commercial franchises and services in the pavement maintenance and parking lot maintenance industry, today said it has the opportunity to expand the company’s franchise into Louisiana due to estimates that more than $30 million in aid could be required to repair damaged roads and other state infrastructure cause by Hurricane Isaac.
The U.S. Department of Transportation earlier this week said that $3.5 million in quick release emergency relief funds has been made available to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development to help repair roads and bridges damaged by the hurricane.
Firemans Contractors explained how natural disasters and subsequent relief funds can benefit business and said that franchising is the company’s most aggressive and significant means of expansion.
Firemans Contractors recently launched its Franchise Development Program, facilitating more than 7,000 franchises sales. The company said it expects a second franchise in the near future.
“We are currently eligible to franchise in 37 states,” Renee Gilmore, CEO of Firemans Contractors stated in the press release. “While it is our intention to systematically market our franchise in each eligible state, natural disasters do create opportunities that cause us to slightly augment our roll-out plan. Having the ability to capture some of the lucrative prospective business in Louisiana, or anywhere else in the country for that matter – where disaster has stuck – has been made more probable for Firemans due to our recently launched Franchise Model. Franchising is indeed one of the most advantageous expansion efforts Firemans has made to date.”
Firemans Contractors strategy is to look for opportunity within the private sector, where contractors can often more easily secure government contracts.
