Envision Solar International, Inc. (EVSI) to Debut Their Standalone Portable Solar Charging Station at Charging Infrastructure Expo in Detroit

Envision Solar International, which has really made a name for itself in the sustainable infrastructure market with their unique, proprietary solar architectures like the single-unit Solar Tree® Socket and the multi-unit Solar Tree® Array (both of which utilize the company’s Drag & Drop Infrastructure™ product line), was pleased to announce the debut of what is the world’s first fully autonomous, mobile EV (electric vehicle) charging station, the EV ARC™, at this year’s Charging Infrastructure Expo in Detroit.

This highly trafficked show brings together some of the top people today from across the entire auto industry, including business leaders and technical people, in addition to influential consultants and R&D people, making this the ideal venue at which to showcase the company’s new charging station. This baby has it all too, from being highly cost-effective to being as easy as cake to install, the EV ARC offers the perfect way for customers to roll out EV charging infrastructure. Completely standalone as a system, EV ARC nevertheless autonomously provides everything one could want in such a charging station, all without needing any kind of foundation or trenching for support.

Better still, EV ARC won’t impose the hassle of having to get a grid connection hooked up or a building permit established in order to set the thing up and use it, bringing all the bang for your buck of the much more costly and cumbersome fixed emplacements, without any of the headaches typically associated with deploying them (and you can easily move it around later on if plans change too, a huge boon for customers). EVSI is making it ridiculously easy to rollout EV charging infrastructure with this system and the EV ARC is proudly engineered, invented, and fabricated right here in the U.S.

EV ARC was designed to fit inside a standard parking space and shows up at the customers’ doorstep ready to use as a self contained installation. The system draws roughly 16 kWhrs/day via the solar cells and stores it in the on-board 22kWhr battery module, making pure transportation goodness directly from the sun. The system also employs EVSI’s revolutionary (proprietary and patent pending) EnvisionTrak™ technology, allowing the EV ARC to follow the sun and pull down an additional 18% to 25% over a typical fixed array.

President and CEO of EVSI, Desmond Wheatley, couldn’t hold back his excitement over the EV ARC being prominently featured as one of the main attractions at the expo this year and promised to wow an audience that will mainly consist of industry professionals who will all be hunting for the next big thing in charging innovation. Wheatley emphasized that all major manufacturers are now doing EVs and then touted the company’s agreement with Cadillac as proof of the company’s ability to consistently deliver products that hit the sweet spot for sustainable solutions when it comes to audience engagement and branding in the rapidly growing EV charging market (expected to grow at 128% CAGR for the next decade according to leading analytical firm Frost and Sullivan).

Wheatley stressed that the EV ARC is not vaporware or some mere concept product. This thing is for real and the first units have already shipped to an eager customer, with more waiting to go out as part of what will be the company’s first export of the technology. The EV ARC will allow EVSI to strike hard and fast, well above its current fighting weight, as a truly transportable solar charging station adds mightily to their already strong portfolio of EV charging solutions and will enable improved reach, as well as increased opportunities in what is a ravenously hungry global market for this kind of hardware.
