Mr. Rathmann is an experienced venture fund manager and advisor to life science companies. He is currently the manager of GBR Investments LLC and also serves as director of Cellerant Therapeutics and executive director of the Rathmann Family Foundation. Earlier in his career, Rathmann co-managed the early stage venture fund Falcon Technology Partners L.P. This fund was a seed investor in companies including Adolor, Caliper, deCode, Genomica, and Ciphergen/Vermillion.
Mr. Rathmann is highly regarded in the life science industry, which should be an aid to Cryoport. He will be able to provide the company with insights into the needs of potential customers across various industry sectors. Rathmann himself said that he sees in Cryoport “many attributes of companies he helped fund at an early stage that later went on to create tremendous value” for shareholders.
