Eco Building Products, Inc. (ECOB) Announces Opening of Additional Coating Facility in New Jersey

Eco Building Products, a manufacturer of treated wood products that are protected against fire, mold/mycotoxins, fungus, rot-decay, wood ingesting insects, and termites, Friday announced that it has established Eco Red Shield lumber coating services in Fairlawn, New Jersey. The location is slated to open its doors in August 2013, equipped with rail service and lumber yard. The announcement of the new facility arrives on the heels of Eco’s fledgling Sandy Rebuild, further fueled by the Governor of New Jersey’s administration issuing mold mitigation guidance targeting residential recovery efforts from last year’s super storm Sandy.

In an effort to show continued support of regional rebuild efforts in the Tri-State area, the company’s Eco Red Shield protected lumber is now on the shelf and available for purchase in select retail stores throughout the New Jersey, New York, and Philadelphia metro areas. Eco, now having an established facility located in the heart of this market, will have the capacity to produce the large volumes of product required by Eco’s Big Box customer that is now piloting Eco’s defensive line of products. Eco Red Shield, providing customers with a choice in comparison to raw lumber, provides homeowners and contractors with unparalleled mold, fire, termite, and wood rot protection.

“I am extremely proud to be working with this Big Box retailer as one of our sales partners throughout this region that are now carrying our defensive products on their shelves and online, just in time for the Sandy rebuild. Doing so offers their loyal customer base a superior product, rather than raw lumber and the same old mold clean-up and waterproofing products. Working in unison, the provision of unlimited access to Eco’s products is now a reality for consumers. The Company spent several years developing the infrastructure, operations, code approvals and quality-controls before introducing Eco Red Shield to the main market. We’ve worked diligently over the past several years defining the ‘full-framing package’ in the treated lumber category, with expectations of a paradigm shift to occur. The Company is proud to state that the paradigm shift has occurred, and the category is forever forged and gaining momentum in the industry,” said Steve Conboy, President & CEO, Eco Building Products, Inc. “The investor community continues to ask Eco why we waited so long to get this great product into the national supply chain. As the Innovator behind the marketing of Eco Red Shield, I knew that early decisions getting to market before the Company was prepared to handle a large customer was going to one day pay off,” stated Conboy.

As Eco and its partners continue to push into Sandy Rebuild efforts, the company assures that it still remains active with its same Big Box retail chain, preparing stores in other regions prone to wildfires and other seasonal natural disasters. “If someone were to go really deep in plywood inventory down in the South during this really slow housing market, come hurricane season that would be labeled as a brilliant move. The fact that Eco Red Shield appeared in and around the Sandy Rebuild, and now with it on the shelf in a big box; this was no accident. This product line looks likes it was designed for a rebuild,” added Steve Conboy, President & CEO, Eco Building Products, Inc.
