Competitive Companies, a developer of “Intelligent Community” technologies, said it has signed a multi-city “tier one” contract with Level 3 Communications, a Fortune 500 Company operating as an American multinational telecommunications and Internet Service Provider (ISP) and the largest competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) in the United States.
Per the agreement, CCI has tier-one connections to more than 500 markets in 55 countries covering a global services platform on three continents and connected by extensive undersea facilities. Additionally, Level 3’s ownership of more than 180 buildings within the United States provides CCI with instant interconnection facilities in key locations in 180 major U.S. markets.
The new contract calls for CCI to open network facilities in 10 U.S. cities by the end of the calendar year, enabling the company to provide its Internet services to both private and public enterprises.
Obtaining the tier one connection also enables CCI to offer bandwidth-intensive services such as public safety cameras and private video surveillance to certain businesses and facilities.
