Clean Wind Energy Tower has entered into a letter of intent (LOI) to buy a 3,200-acre site in Mexico that is complementary to the company’s alternative energy project currently under development.
The company plans to build and operate two Clean Wind Energy Downdraft Towers on the site, which the company says offers suitable access and ideal topography, making the location a “particularly exceptional area.”
“We are excited about the opportunity to locate two Downdraft Towers in this region as it is one of the prime locations in the world due to the climate, which enables the Tower to produce an optimum amount of clean, renewable energy,” Ronald W. Pickett, Clean Wind’s chairman and CEO stated in the press release.
Pickett noted that other ideal locations include areas in Western Australia, North Africa, and select regions of South America, India, the Middle East, and South West USA.
Clean Wind and the current land owner began discussions regarding this project in late 2011, and have since collaborated under the LOI toward reaching a definitive agreement.
