Euro Tech Holdings announced that its subsidiary, PACT Environmental Technology Company Ltd., was awarded a $2.3 million contract for an industrial wastewater treatment plant.
Based in Shanghai, PACT is focused on water and wastewater treatment, providing solutions for clients on a global scale. PACT handles the design, manufacturing, sourcing, installation, and servicing of water/wastewater treatment, water desalination plants, and equipment.
The contract, awarded by an unnamed German vehicle components company, covers the design, supply, project management, civil construction, equipment installation, and commissioning of the plant, which will process 1,000 tons of industrial wastewater per day. In September of 2012, PACT passed the BWTS land base test in China. The company will be required to pass a 6 month sea board test that will allow PACT to obtain the necessary certifications before they are able to launch the system.
Euro Tech continues to invest in the Ballast Water Treatment business, despite a two-year difficulty period, and is optimistic that this potential business will generate steady revenue and income based on orders from retrofits and new installations from ships in the future.
