Liberty Coal Energy Corp. is a resource development and production company with current projects located in the Powder River Basin in north eastern Wyoming. Focused on building a solid platform for success in the United States’ most active coal mining region, the company is dedicated to the acquisition, development and production of clean coals from the Wyoming, Great Plains and Rocky Mountain areas.
Located in the Sheridan coalfield north of Sheridan Wyoming, Liberty Coal’s North Rachester property covers approximately 1,200 acres. The company is currently in the process of designing and permitting a multi-phase drilling program to establish the specific quality, thickness and attitudes of the two coal beds within the property. This information will be included in reports and the data base, which will be used in the mine feasibility study.
Liberty Coal’s South Powder River property is currently held as a 640 acre Wyoming State lease. Eight previous drill holes have established the resource of approximately 73 million tons of sub-bituminous coal underlying the entire property and extending into surrounding lands. Named the Big George Seam, it lies at a depth of about 1,100 feet below surface and averages 66 feet in thickness. The area has been a producer of coal bed methane for some time, drawn through wells drilled into the coal strata.
