Zoom Telephonics, Inc. (www.zoom.com) – established provider of a wide variety of communications products ranging from 3G modems/routers and Bluetooth to VoIP gateways, ADSL/DSL, cable, and dial-up modems (under the recognized Zoom, Hayes and Global Village brands), reported the first volume shipments of their Zoom Model 4402 Wireless-N Router yesterday, Thursday, August 05.
President and CEO of ZMTP, Frank Manning, detailed the superior value of the Model 4402 at only $39, and highlighted the way in which the 4402 joining the Company’s already vast suite of wireless-N offerings represents an important addition for better serving market demand.
The 4402, like all Zoom products, is fully supported from the Company’s Boston HQ, and Zoom is a US company with a proven, 33-year track record of customer satisfaction.
Ideal for small or home businesses, the 4402 can handle the traffic of 253 users at up to 150 Mbps within a 1k foot (304 meter) range, and supports the latest wireless security while offering Wi-Fi Protected Setup for simplified installation, a robust firewall solution. In addition, the unit can be configured locally or remotely (from literally anywhere) via an intuitive, browser-based interface.
Because the 4402 can act as a router, a wireless-N access point, or as a wireless-N repeater for extending a network, it is an incredibly dynamic system and works with 802.11 n, g, b, and mixed wireless networks.
This makes yet another addition by the Company to its growing list of products supporting the 802.11n wireless networking protocol, including:
• low-cost USB adapters
• desktop routers connectable to wired broadband or a 3G cellular USB modem
• a 3G mobile router which can run off batteries as well as AC
With a detachable external antenna, the 4402 is designed to support special-purpose antennae installations for uses outside its original design configuration, where either longer range or greater directional capability becomes necessary.
The flexible and affordable 4402 system is a perfect fit for recognized demand, and the volume shipments should experience exceptional uptake, generating significant benefits for the Company’s shareholders downstream.
