Electronic Control Security (EKCS.OB) Receives $1.1 Million Contract for Air Force and Nuclear Power Station Security Systems

Electronic Control Security, Inc. (“ECSI”) announced Friday that it has been awarded a $1.1 million purchase order to security upgrades at several U.S. Air Force bases and nuclear power stations to meet updated force protection and National Response Center (NRC) requirements. Additional proposals have been submitted to other bases and power stations for the fiscal years 2011 and 2012.

These security upgrades include the design and installation of multi-layer security systems including ECSI’s Infrared Perimeter Intrusion Detection (IPID®) system, Fiber Optic Intelligence Detection System (FOIDS®), Intelligent Video Motion Detection (IVMD®) and infrared pan-tilt-zoom camera technology.

Arthur Barchenko, President and CEO of ECSI, stated, “These security upgrades have been in the planning stage since 2008 following the terror attacks against our domestic assets in 2001. All branches of government including the nuclear facilities are upgrading and hardening our facilities at an accelerated pace. The NRC has always been one step ahead of potential terrorist threats, and the Department of Defense has increased its efforts in hardening its facilities as well,” Mr. Barchenko continued, “Our business is about assisting in the development of security solutions to prevent infiltration of high-value assets and to guard against potential terrorist penetration. We are very proud to be part of this on-going security and anti-terrorism process to help protect the nation’s sensitive and high-visibility sites.”

ECSI has been moving forward with their business strategies recently. Robert Oliver has been named as Vice President, Operations to address product design and engineering, R&D, production scheduling, purchasing and inventory control in accordance with ISO 9001:2008 in response to growing demand for the ECSI products. Strategic alliances have also been formed in the past few months with S.R.H. Marine Electronics, S.A. to enhance its anti-piracy technology program and JMAR, LLC to further develop the combined capabilities the Companies online, real-time water monitoring systems.
