Rex Energy Corp. reported that the company received an air environmental permit from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to construct a natural gas processing facility.
Rex Energy Corp. is building the Sarsen cryogenic natural gas processing facility in Butler County, Pennsylvania. The facility will be used to process natural gas extracted from the Marcellus Shale on the company’s acreage in the area.
Rex Energy Corp. said that the air environmental permit was required under Pennsylvania law prior to final construction.
The Sarsen cryogenic natural gas processing facility is being built by Keystone Midstream Services, LLC, which is a joint venture formed with Stonehenge Energy Resources, L.P. Rex Energy Corp. said that the facility would be operational by October 2010.
Rexx Energy Corporation is an energy company that explores and develops crude oil and natural gas on its properties in the United States. These properties are located primarily in the Illinois and Appalachian Basins. The company recently closed on the purchase of 18,000 net acres in Laramie County, Wyoming. The acreage is prospective for the Niobrara Shale.
