Cubic Energy Inc. issued an operations update on the company’s oil and gas exploration and development activities in the United States.
Cubic Energy Inc. reported that it has begun drilling the Crow 8 No. 1 well located in Louisiana. The company is working on the vertical portion of the well, and has set casing at a depth of approximately 2000 feet.
Cubic Energy Inc. said that the Crow 8 No. 1 well is located on the company’s Bethany Longstreet acreage in Caddo Parish, and the company has a twenty four percent working interest in the well.
This was the second well that Cubic Energy Inc. has drilled or completed in Caddo Parish, Louisiana in the last thirty days. The company completed the Thomas 36 No. 1 well in July 2010 on its Johnson Branch acreage.
Cubic Energy Inc. used a fourteen stage hydraulic fracturing operation on the Thomas 36 No. 1 to fracture the well, and more than five million pounds of proppant to keep the fractures open so the hydrocarbons could flow.
Cubic Energy Inc. is an oil and gas exploration and development company with operations in Louisiana in Caddo and DeSoto Parishes. The company is targeting several different formations, including the Cotton Valley, Upper and Lower Hosston, Pettet and Rodessa.
