Among the many
concerns that come with a globalized world, growing are concerns regarding the
health needs of remote populations in rural communities across the globe.
Organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United
Nations are working to grow awareness and strengthen healthcare resources in
these locations. But as the WHO acknowledges in its bulletins, the lack of
healthcare accessibility and the workers providing it within these areas often
leads to high, localized mortality rates—and forces rural residents to find
healthcare from providers that are far from the areas they call home.
In many developing
nations, governmental leaders are aware of these communities’ needs and are
taking action via their health agencies or departments to improve healthcare in
these hard-to-reach areas. These efforts require careful coordination and
facilitation for effective service delivery. Kallo, a health delivery company,
is focused on these dynamic, logistical challenges.
The company offers
solutions for efficient healthcare delivery. More specifically, these solutions
are designed to add to and complement existing infrastructures and processes.
Ultimately, these solutions improve the existing systems’ uptime, productivity,
and efficiency rates and ensure they are in compliance with international,
national, and regional standards. Stringent quality controls within the suite
of solutions make certain that healthcare delivery remains consistently
efficient and accomplishes what it is designed to do.
Most notably, the
Republic of Guinea in West Africa has turned to Kallo for assistance in
building up its rural healthcare delivery program. In late January 2014, the
country’s Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene signed a $200 million supply
contract with the company. According to the agreement’s terms, Kallo will
provide a range of varied healthcare solutions.
“The Republic of
Guinea has recently made great strides in its healthcare infrastructure
development, and this is an important step towards WHO’s Millennium Development
Goals for Guinea.” Said Mr. John Cecil, Chairman and CEO of Kallo Inc. In
December of 2013, following meetings between Mr. Cecil and the Government of
Guinea, Honorable Docteur Edouard Niankoye LAMA, Guinea’s Minister of Health
announced that Guinea would implement a unique healthcare delivery program to
bring a higher standard of health services to its rural population and
accelerate the progress towards its Millennium Development Goals.
