Fully integrated multi-media entertainment company Primco Management recently announced that well-known music producer Mike Clink will lend his legendary skills to produce the debut album for ESMG’s newest alternative rock band, “Downtown Attraction.” ESMG recently inked a multi-year, multi-album deal to both produce and distribute the original music created by the LA-based alternative rock band. The album will be released through the ESMG/Top Sail Productions output deal with WEA/Warner Music Group.
Beginning his career as an engineer at Record Plant Studios, Mike Clink has recorded and worked with a number of prolific bands, some of which include Triumph, Guns N’ Roses, MötleyCrüe, Eddie Money, Megadeth, UFO, Jefferson Starship, The Babys, Heart, and many more. Clink is most known for producing the release of Guns N’ Roses’ debut album in 1986, “Appetite for Destruction.” Clinks production skills helped Guns N’ Roses sell a combined total of over 90 million albums. After his first taste of success, in 1989 Clink produced the critically acclaimed and self-titled debut album of the Sea Hags which was then followed by Megadeth’s hit “Rust in Peace.” A credit to the music industry, Dave Mustaine wrote in the Remaster’s Notebook that Clink produced albums that vastly influenced him as a guitar player. Clink has worked on a number of brilliant projects, including the live half-time show for Super Bowl XXXV that featured Aerosmith, Nelly, ‘N Sync, and Britney Spears.
