UFood Restaurant Group, Inc. (UFFC) Opens First UFood Grill Unit in Salt Lake City International Airport; Second Slated to Open Mid-April

UFood Restaurant Group, Inc., a franchisor and operator of fast-casual food service restaurants, today announced that the first of two UFood Grill units has opened at Salt Lake International Airport in Salt Lake City, Utah. These two new UFood Grill locations, the first of which opened on April 6 and the second of which is slated to open in late April, are part of the Salt Lake International Airport’s revitalized concessions program. As travelers increasingly seek quick, healthy meal options, airports offer a strong growth opportunity for UFood Grill. Other airports locations currently operated by the company include units in Boston, Cleveland, and Dallas.

UFood Grill’s franchisee for the two Salt Lake City airport locations is Hojeij Branded Foods, which operates a number of food and beverage concessions in many of the nation’s top airports.

UFood Grill specializes in foods that are both tasty and lower in calories and fat. Wherever possible, the company offers meals that are antibiotic-free, hormone-free, and gluten-free, as well as meals prepared with natural, grass-fed beef, and cage-free egg whites. UFood’s expansive menu includes lean burgers, rice bowls, salads, wraps, paninis, and smoothies.

The company has received approval to expand into the military channel and will debut three units at Aberdeen Proving Ground Army Base in Maryland – the first of which is currently under construction. Construction on the second is slated to begin sometime in May.

UFood Restaurant Group is headquartered in Boston, Mass. A franchisor and operator of fast-casual restaurants, UFood Grill offers customers a healthy lifestyle alternative when it comes to fast-casual dining. The company is positioned to become a leader in the healthier quick-serve restaurant category. UFood is led by franchise innovator George Naddaff, who is the founder of Boston Market and the franchising leader of several companies, including Sylvan Learning Center and VR Business Brokers. Naddaff additionally founded two of the country’s first educational daycare centers, both of which were sold to KinderCare. Naddaff has assembled a seasoned management and franchise team at UFood Grill. The company is in the midst of launching a growth plan to franchise nationwide.
