Capstone Turbine Corp. (CPST) Completes Sale of 30 Additional C65 Microturbines to Multiple Oil and Gas Producers Operating in the Eagle Ford Shale Play
Capstone Turbine, a global clean technology manufacturer of microturbine energy systems, announced today the continued expansion of its presence in the Eagle Ford Shale Play with the sale of 30 additional C65 microturbines.
This follow-on order was secured by Capstone distributor Horizon Power Systems (Pumps & Service) to support the growing power needs of multiple users. This latest order of 30 low-emission C65 microturbines brings Capstone’s sale totals to more than 150 units in the last nine months. Most of the 150 microturbines will operate using natural gas, generating prime power that is clean and green for Lease Automatic Custody Transfer (LACT) units and transfer stations at remote well sites in the Eagle Ford Shale Play.
Capstone’s oil and gas sales are rapidly increasing and equaled around 60 percent of the company’s total revenue through the first three quarters of fiscal 2012. These multiple follow-on orders, along with a recent 10 MW order for C1000 Series products, indicates that Capstone’s innovative technology is increasingly becoming a chosen source for meeting customers’ high-caliber power needs.
