Obscene Interactive, an up-and-coming global social gaming applications developer, today announced that its current acquisition target, HourBlast Games, has completed the latest round of beta testing on its pioneering new social mobile game Dueling Blades, which is a critical step toward the game’s release.
Players were selected from the developer’s Facebook test group, and participants battled each other and computer-controlled opponents to test the Unity game engine and dynamic combat system that the game is built around. Once the testing was closed, the top three players were given special game-in character upgrades as a reward.
In order for HourBlast to perfect its debut game before the Facebook release, another round of testing will soon begin. Meanwhile, Dueling Blades has received more than 1,800 Facebook fans in spite of its development status. Both casual and serious gamers are anticipating the game’s release due to its revolutionary gameplay and customization options.
Dueling Blades is an RPG/strategy game that is fantasy themed; it is scheduled to launch on Facebook sometime this spring, with iOS and Android versions following thereafter. The game enables players to create their own customizable 3-D avatars and battle friends and enemies anywhere in the world in real time.
Last month, Obscene Interactive signed a letter of intent with HourBlast and is in the process of conducting due diligence toward a potential business agreement.
