PeopleString Corp. (PLPE) Starts Marketing Relationship with Cameo Stars to Leverage Celebrity and Brand Relationships for Promotion of Social Deals

PeopleString Corp., the creator of technologies that allow consumers to leverage their social networks to capitalize on the best national and local deals, announced it has signed a strategic marketing agreement with Cameo Stars to market PeopleString’s “Share It Up” technology to national brands and marketers. Cameo Stars will make use of its significant relationships with celebrities like Carmen Electra, Kim Kardashian, Drew Brees and Dale Earnhardt Jr. to create “Social Cameos” on customer Facebook pages to increase partnerships and clients for PeopleString platforms.

Cameo Stars developed an innovative social entertainment platform that brings celebrities and characters into branded content to enable consumers to experience, interact with and share their favorite icons in exciting new ways. This app allows stars to become a participant in each consumer’s social experience and can be completely branded for movies, TV shows, musicians or consumer brands. Stars can deliver unique messages to Facebook pages that can then be shared, stored and displayed to friends.

People String’s People Deals site allows small and medium sized businesses to create deals that increase in value the more they are shared across social media. The price actually gets cheaper the more participants share the virtual coupon on Facebook, Twitter or Myspace. Businesses who pay a fee of $80 a month or $649 a year to subscribe can stop a deal if it explodes in popularity or keep increasing the discount. They compete not only with the Valpaks and clipper magazines but also the Groupons and Living Socials of the world.

“We believe that the social endorsement technology Cameo Stars has developed will bring the personal celebrity touch to PeopleString, and integrate perfectly with PeopleDeals, to create celebrity-endorsed social deals,” said Darin Myman, CEO PeopleString Corporation in a press release Friday. “PeopleDeals offers merchants a fully customizable coupon platform, direct connection with their customers, and most importantly, a growing, loyal customer base that will advocate on their behalf.”

A 2010 iModerate study found that 67% of Twitter users and 50% of Facebook users said they were more likely to make a purchase from the brands they follow.
