Sony and Microsoft Select Soul and Vibe Interactive, Inc. (SOUL) to Publish Games

Soul and Vibe Interactive, publisher of games and game-related content for consoles, mobile devices, and personal computers, today reported that as a result of completing a rigorous qualification process, the company has been selected as a publisher of console games by both Microsoft and Sony. According to VGChartz, The PlayStation® 3 and Xbox 360® together account for 78% of the console market.

Approximately 3,300 game titles have been published for the Xbox 360 alone. Collectively, they have sold 744 million units since the console launched. Now one of only a small number of companies worldwide that has been approved by Microsoft as a publisher of content for Xbox 360®, Soul and Vibe is also licensed to develop and publish games, companion “apps,” and content on other Microsoft platforms including Windows 8, Windows Live, and Windows Phone.

Soul and Vibe is also approved by Sony as a licensed developer and publisher for the PlayStation® 3 and PlayStation® Vita consoles. More than 2,700 PlayStation 3 games have been published since the console’s launch with 646 million units sold, according to VGChartz. Additionally, it is estimated that the 172 PlayStation Vita titles currently in the market place have already sold 10.45 million units since the PlayStation Vita’s launch last year.

“After completing an in-depth process, Soul and Vibe was selected to become a publisher for Microsoft’s and Sony’s hardware platforms. This process involved each of these console manufacturers vetting Soul and Vibe as a company that can deliver entertaining and engaging games. We were identified as a company that specializes in the creation of original intellectual properties and that has extensive experience licensing world-renowned brands from influential companies. With our publishing licenses for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, we address 78% of the console market,” stated Soul and Vibe CEO and President Peter Anthony Chiodo (“Tony”).

“While the games we launch address an enormous installed base for the current generation of hardware, we are also very excited about Sony’s and Microsoft’s ‘next generation’ hardware launches. We look forward to developing innovative games and entertainment experiences for these future platforms,” Chiodo added.

Today’s news represents a major milestone for the up-and-coming game publisher. Consumer spending on game software exceeded $56 billion in 2010, and the game industry’s revenue is projected to reach $82 billion by the year 2015. With numbers such as these, the opportunity for rapid growth in a burgeoning sector is readily apparent.
