ALR Technologies, Inc. (ALRT) Partners with Mid-America Coalition on Health Care to Improve Diabetes Management

ALR Technologies, a medical device company providing remote monitoring and care facilitation primarily for patients with diabetes, has entered into a partnership with the Mid-America Coalition on Health Care (MACHC) to assist the coalition’s multi-stakeholder membership better manage and reduce the costs for employees with diabetes.

The Health-e-Connect Program’s remote monitoring and care facilitation capabilities enable ALRT Diabetes Care Facilitators to monitor patients’ blood glucose data and, in accordance with clinician-approved protocols, offer advice, support, and interventions if a patient’s readings are out of an acceptable range or if the patient is not testing their blood glucose as prescribed.

MACHC will launch a pilot participation of the Health-e-Connect Diabetes Management Program to its network of 67 member organizations representing more than 500,000 employees in the greater Kansas City area.

“Throughout our 33 year history, our mission is focused on identifying and offering solutions that improve the way health care is designed and delivered so that our members can better manage their healthcare costs. The Health-e-Connect Program is an innovative tool that aligns with our mission to provide solutions that improve quality and lower the costs of expensive chronic diseases such as diabetes,” MACHC president and CEO Troy Ross stated in the press release.

In clinical trials, the Health-e-Connect System has demonstrated that this type of remote care is associated with significant lowering of A1c levels and improving glucose control compared to conventional care.

Per the agreement, ALRT has agreed to donate a portion of any revenue derived from the project to MACHC.
