Douglas Lake Minerals Inc. (DLKM) Zeros in On Multiple Gold Targets in Tanzania, Announces Drilling Program Start Date

Douglas Lake Minerals, a young, aggressive mineral developer currently heavily focused on its resource sites in Tanzania, issued an update report today detailing the ongoing exploration activities at one of the four sites being worked by the Company in Tanzania’s Handeni district.

The wholly owned site (PL6743/2010) lies just east of Magambazi Hill in some of the Handeni district’s prime mineralization acreage. Extensive analysis of this and the other sites in the Company’s portfolio have culminated in the recent completion of a ground induced polarization/resistivity and ground magnetic geophysical survey spanning a grid some 4 sq km to the east/south/north of the established Canaco Resources’ Magambazi site.

The 100-meter grid spacing utilized by Spectral Geophysics, well known in Africa’s mineral development sector for prior work with big players like Barrick Gold and Rio Tinto, employed ground-based dipole-dipole/pole dipole induced polarization and fixed loop time-domain electromagnetic induction. Spectral Geophysics also handled the modeling and interpretational framework for the geophysical data.

The survey data has produced multiple targets which are not only consistent with the mineralization/geology identified elsewhere in the Handeni region, but also have shown up as very distinct anomalies via large amounts of chargeability and resistivity data. Additionally, trenching/geochemical analysis confirms this view and the massive 3 km-long strike length (comprised of all anomalous zones) has one segment stretching for a continuous 750 meters.
So, an excellent series of targets have been identified and the Company intends to begin its drilling program August 18, progressing in series through the targets in accordance with the projected potential of the target in question.

President of Exploration and Managing Director at DLKM, Dr. Reyno Scheepers, called the generation of solid targets for drilling on the Company’s acreage to the east of Magambazi Hill a real milestone. Scheepers underscored that this second of twelve identified anomalous gold areas would act as a springboard for future development in the region, as DLKM aggressively pursues other rich locations in the highly mineralized Handeni.
