Today, Axion International announced that it has signed an agreement with Coll Materials. This agreement would expand the manufacturing capacity at Coll’s Waco, TX facility. Coll also has facilities in Zanesville, OH and Allentown, PA.
Axion is a producer of green infrastructure and construction products, such as its RSC material, made from 100% recycled consumer and industrial plastics, which the company claims are a sustainable alternative to materials such as wood, steel and concrete. Coll’s products include HDPE, PP, ABS, TPO and PET, as well as other types of engineered resins. Coll is committed to recycling and sustainability.
Steve Silverman, Axion’s President and Chief Executive Officer said, “We are excited to align ourselves with Coll Materials. Their facility in Texas allows Axion to increase our capacity in a strategic location so that we can efficiently service our customers and meet the growing demand for our products. More importantly Coll has a ‘quality first’ mentality and is knowledgeable about recycled plastics processing. Our new relationship not only provides us with the necessary short term capacity we need, but also gives us room to grow.”
Marc Solda, Axion’s Executive Vice President commented, “Coll Materials is known as a premier quality processor. Additionally, they offer some good nontraditional sources for cost effective raw materials. As we continue to grow it is important that Axion continues to broaden our contracted manufacturing and supplier base. This represents our first expansion in the region.”
“We are pleased to work with Axion to satisfy their plastic conversion needs,” said Brian Coll, CEO of Coll Materials. “Axion’s outsourced manufacturing model aligns well with our business model of providing value added conversion services to our clients. We believe Axion has a superior product and we look forward to working more with Axion as their technology grows in popularity in the United States and internationally.”
