Pioneer Behavioral Health (PHC) Reports Strong Fourth Quarter

Pioneer Behavioral Health reported a strong year over year increase in sales in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2010 as the company continues its recovery from the recession of 2009. The company also reported a profit compared to a loss in the same period a year earlier.

Pioneer Behavioral Health reported net sales of $14 million in the quarter ending 6/30/2010, compared to $11.7 million in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2009. The company attributed the large gain to increased occupancy at the Seven Hills Behavioral Institute, the Detroit Behavioral Institute and Harbor Oaks Hospital.

Pioneer Behavioral Health reported net income of $0.4 million, or $0.02 per diluted share, in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2010. The company reported a loss of $0.25 million, or ($0.01) per diluted share, in the corresponding quarter of 2009.

During the fourth quarter of fiscal 2010, the Board of Directors of Pioneer Behavioral Health reauthorized the company’s stock repurchase program for another year. The company has the authority to buy up to one million Class A shares beginning on 7/1/2010.

Pioneer Behavioral Health offers services in the behavioral health area on both an inpatient and outpatient basis in the United States. The company owns psychiatric and substance abuse facilities in Utah, Virginia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Nevada.
