Axion International announced yesterday that Perry Jacobson, Managing Director at Brookstone Partners, and Michael Dodd, CEO of 3D Global Solutions, were elected to Axion’s Board of Directors. After several years of valuable service, Axion Board member, Lori Jones, has resigned from Axion’s Board. The Company stated that they wish her success and appreciate her contribution.
Jim Kerstein, Axion CEO and Co-founder, stated, “Perry and Mike are going to be tremendous assets to Axion as we continue to grow the company. Perry’s insights and experience in the capital markets and Mike’s experience in management consulting and working with Military purchasing will both prove extremely valuable in helping to guide Axion’s expansion in the years ahead.”
In his role as Managing Director at Brookstone Partners, Mr. Jacobson is responsible for managing B.P. Mezzanine Capital, LLC. It is a captive mezzanine fund which primarily invests alongside Brookstone Partners’ equity capital as well as working with the firm’s Limited Partners.
Mr. Jacobson, prior to joining Brookstone, was a specialist on the New York Stock Exchange from 1982 to 2004. He began his career with CMJ Partners and continued with Wagner, Stott and Mercator after their merger. He became a member of the managing committee at each firm where he engaged in both day-to-day and policy decisions. Mr. Jacobson was also a NYSE Floor Governor and a member of the NYSE Market Performance Committee.
“It is with great excitement and anticipation that I accept this appointment to Axion’s Board,” said Mr. Jacobson. “I look forward to working with Jim and Axion’s Board to help carry on the advanced development the company is making in the use of recycled plastics as infrastructure building material.”
For over 16 years, Mr. Dodd has held progressively higher-level executive management positions with a primary focus on military sales and business development within the federal government. As CEO of 3D Global Solutions, he has overseen the company’s expansion serving government, agencies and companies in the aerospace, defense, hospitality, health, transportation and commercial sectors.
Mr. Dodd was a Managing Director of the Federal Technology Group of Audio Visual Innovations, Inc., prior to joining 3D. There, he served as an advisor to management and the Board of Directors in matters relating to strategic growth in vertical market opportunities. Mr. Dodd graduated from Catholic University of America with a B.A. in Political Science in 1994. In addition, he served in the United States Military from September 1989 through October 2000.
“I am proud to join the Board of Directors of a company with true game-changing technology,” stated Mike Dodd, CEO of 3D Global Solutions. “The level of success Axion has achieved within the Military and DoD to date with their unique blend of recycled polymers has been exciting to witness, so becoming part of the Board level team to help guide that expansion is a great opportunity.”

The Company’s “green” proprietary technologies allow for the development and manufacture of innovative structural products made from 100 percent recycled consumer and industrial plastics.
