Ascent Solar Technologies, Inc. (ASTI) Releases EnerPlex Surfr™ Battery and Solar Case for Samsung S4

Ascent Solar Technologies, a manufacturer of cutting edge, flexible thin-film photovoltaic modules, announced that it has made its EnerPlex Surfr for the Galaxy S4 available across the company’s owned retail channels. This network includes retail locations in the Denver area and online through www.goenerplex.com. Distribution partners are scheduled to go live later in the month.

The EnerPlex Surfr for Galaxy S4 leverages Ascent’s ultra-light, thin and flexible solar panels to give Galaxy users the ability to enhance the battery life of their smartphones with sunlight to compliment conventional charging methods.

The solar powered charging capabilities of the EnerPlex case for Galaxy S4 are provided by the lightweight, thin and highly customizable form factor of Ascent’s CIGS solar cells. These innovative solar cells allow for solar technology integration into the thinnest and lightest solar-enabled Samsung case on the market. This powerful technology, coupled with an ultra-thin lithium-ion battery, allow the EnerPlex Surfr to supply hours of additional audio, web and talk time to users.

Ascent Solar’s Vice President of Product Development, Robert Meck said: “Equipped with a 2500 mAh battery and solar panel for emergency charging, the Surfr for the Galaxy S4 remains extremely lightweight and retains a slim profile; making it a perfect accessory for those consumers who require more power for their phone while they are on the go.”
