Arista Power focuses on renewable energy solutions for residential and commercial businesses. Formerly known as WindTamer Corp., Arista was incorporated in 2001 as an independent developer of patented ducted wind turbine technology.
In 2010, the company added several senior executives and engineers to expand its expertise to develop a suite of proprietary products that integrate renewable energy with customizable power storage and management solutions. Throughout the remainder of the year, the company sold and installed its patented WindTamer turbine technology and developed and sold its first mobile renewable energy system to the U.S. Army. In the second half of 2010, Arista (at the time operating as WindTamer) developed and began selling its Power on Demand energy storage system.
In fiscal 2010, the company reported revenues of $494,000, compared to $0 revenue in 2009. By 2011 the company was ready to move forward with the expansion of its product offerings. Effective May 18, 2011, the company changed its name to reflect its progression and future goals.
By the first quarter of 2011, the company had installed its first solar photovoltaic (PV) system, and has since received a multiple unite turbine order from a foreign distributor, as well as second order for a Power on Demand System.
As of May 10, 2011, Arista’s order backlog was approximately $900,000, which consists of orders for wind turbines, solar PV systems, and a Power on Demand system; approximately $300,000 of this amount relates to orders booked before December 31, 2010.
