American Petro-Hunter, the domestic-focused petroleum exploration and production firm, with substantial holdings in Kansas at the Poston Project, announced an updated series of plans related to ongoing participation in a field development program of horizontal drilling at the North Oklahoma Project.
With the recent commercial success of the NOM-1H horizontal well, the targeted, newly defined Mississippi formation reservoir appears to possess the capacity for at least eleven horizontal wells, according to AAPH and the associated working interest partners. Scheduled drilling is anticipated to kick off in September and calls for an aggressive program of one new horizontal Mississippi well every 30-60 days. This schedule, while aggressive, allows ample time to complete both the included direct offsets to the NOM-1H and implementation of final, requisite oil sales and gas line hook up facilities.
This schedule encompasses all of the drilling and completion for a total of 12 production wells and means that continuous activity will be occurring on the Ripley project leases throughout 2011-2012. The same team that brought in the remarkably successful NOM-1H has been retained by the operator and given the extensive, first-hand knowledge of the engineering design and other technical specifics related to the directional drilling at the site possessed by this team, confidence is high that the aggressive schedule of drilling will produce superb results.
President of AAPH, Robert McIntosh, expressed great pleasure at the opportunity to drill an additional series of eleven horizontal wells on the Ripley leases and expressed the view that this project has really become a center piece of the Company’s operations. McIntosh indicated that AAPH would be leaning hard into the growth curve and would drive the continued success of the project/location for some time to come, putting forth a maximum of effort to ensure the Company’s long range production goal of becoming a 1k BOE producer.
