ClickSoftware Technologies Ltd. (CKSW) and Siemens Energy Combine Forces to Boost Productivity

ClickSoftware Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: CKSW) provides mobile workforce management and service optimization software through improved levels of productivity, customer satisfaction and cost effectiveness. The company today announced it is taking measures to extend its reach into the market through its relationship with Siemens Energy.

Since 2002, ClickSoftware and Siemens have made collaborative efforts to manage planned and unplanned power outages. ClickSoftware today announced that Siemens signed a new contract to introduce ClickSoftware’s ServiceOptimization Suite to more than 4,000 resources.

“Back in 2002, and following an extensive evaluation, we selected the ClickSoftware solution for its user interface, stability, scalability and ability to manage complex projects,” Dan Spoone, business process reengineering manager at Siemens, stated in the press release. “Our scheduling requirements are extremely complex with many thousands of individuals providing services to major power plants around the world. Customers are at the core of what we do and ClickSchedule helps us efficiently manage the resources necessary to serve our customers well.”

During the past few years, ClickSchedule has managed the work for 2,000 field resources. According to the press release, because of the duration of most of the jobs, the integrated software has to be able to manage multi-day tasks and several resource teams need to be coordinated across several business units.

ClickSchedule steps in to calculate optimal resource allocation and load balancing. The software takes into account several variables, including account shifts, visa requirements, regulatory compliance, the use of external contractors and other parameters. The software also matches skills needed within the projects with the available workers in the Siemens’ database.

Siemens recently completed its upgrade to the latest version of ClickSoftware’s ServiceOptimization Suite - Version 7.5. This will allow for the management of an additional 4,200 resources, bringing the total number of users in the system to more than 6,000.

“Siemens has been a loyal customer for some time. Our partnership approach has seen us working together through a successful upgrade and the purchase of additional resource licenses serves as the ultimate proof of our joint ability to deliver effectively,” Hannan Carmeli, COO of ClickSoftware stated.” Our ability to handle all types of jobs, from short jobs requiring one person to multi-stage jobs requiring a multi-person team over several days or weeks, in one application provides great efficiencies to our customers. We look forward to working with Siemens in the future to further expand the ClickSoftware footprint within their organization.”
