Gaming Veteran Erik Stein Joins Soul and Vibe Interactive, Inc. (SOUL)

Soul and Vibe Interactive, publisher of games and games-related content for consoles, announced that industry veteran Erik Stein, will be joining its Advisory Board.

Stein, Co-Founder of Gameblend Studios and former Hasbro Interactive Producer, is an expert on video game engineering, design, and production management. His resume includes prolific brands such as Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Playskool, and Trivial Pursuit.

With 20 years of game industry experience, Stein first entered his career during the generation of CD-ROM based games. He began working with industry icon Steve Meretsky at Boffo Games and became a Producer at Hasbro Interactive, one of the largest toy companies in the world. While at Hasbro Interactive, Stein managed multiple external development teams, all contracted to create games based on well-known brands and identities, such as My Little Pony, Playskool, Guess Who, and many more.

“We are very excited to have Erik join the Soul and Vibe team. His skill set is a perfect balance between engineering, design, and production management. His experience developing and producing games that play cross-platform with physical items and toys will benefit the Company greatly as we develop our lineup and explore business opportunities,” said Soul and Vibe Interactive Inc. CEO and President, Peter Anthony Chiodo. “Erik’s production management experience with top-tier IPs will benefit both Soul and Vibe and our licensed-brand partners. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Erik indirectly on previous projects and I am fortunate to now have the opportunity to work with him directly.”

Since establishing Gameblend Studios in 1999, Stein has continued to produce and engineer a plethora of projects for high profile brands. The Lead Engineer on over 15 games for Electronic Arts (EA) and Pogo.com, Stein was also the Lead Engineer on Pogo’s iPhone app, which was the #1 downloaded free iOS app on Apple’s App Store.

Stein’s expertise includes cross-platform engineering and translating design between physical toys and video games. He has a strong background in licensing original intellectual properties (IP), overseeing licensing for Gameblend Studios for video games, physical board games, and entertainment products. Stein’s experience in licensing is impressive, haven overseen 30 print licensing agreements that include international publications such as the UK’s second biggest selling daily newspaper Daily Mail.

“Soul and Vibe’s multi-platform focused business model is a great approach that is very much in-step with the evolving market. The Company’s approach plays to a wide range of emerging entertainment experiences such as cross-platform play between consoles and mobile devices, video game and toy interconnectivity, and wearable tech,” stated Erik Stein. “Their mixed portfolio of licensed-brand and original IP games creates a great balance for consistent growth. Having spent most of my career building the digital gaming presence of major brands that originated in toys and filmed entertainment, I am very much aligned with Soul and Vibe’s strategy. I look forward to contributing to its success.”

Extending his passion for technology and gaming into charitable causes, Stein is currently the Development Director at Global Gaming Initiative, a for-profit gaming company that donates 50% of its profits to qualifying charities.
