E-Waste Systems, Inc., a London-based provider of waste electric and electronic equipment processing services around the world, today announced a partnership with an electronic waste and commodity trading firm, Fine Resources, Inc. of Alabama, to expand the company’s ability to source large volumes of end-of life electronics.
Fine Resource’s president and founder, Rick Fine, will join E-Waste as a consultant of global business development. Fine will be responsible for sourcing waste streams and aggregating downstream volumes of commodities for refining and reusing electronics and sourcing partnerships to help reach EWSI’s goal of vertical integration, the companies said in a statement.
“We are pleased to announce the completion of this agreement with Fine Resources, Inc., and look forward to Rick Fine spearheading our global business development,” said Martin Nielson, chairman and chief executive officer of E-Waste Systems. “Prior to signing this agreement, we, along with our acquisition targets, have experienced a significant step up in e-waste tonnage and we expect much more in the near future.”
EWSI made its first acquisition in Ohio and announced it has future plans for further acquisitions in the United States in an effort to create a unified platform of businesses offering high-quality solutions to the management of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (“WEEE”). EWSI is also working to solidify relationships with other organizations facing regulatory and/or other mandates for the handling of their e-waste.
“I am proud to join the EWSI team and am eager to lead the Company in its expansion efforts throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe. Together, we have the unique ability to establish and introduce effective and compliant global e-waste synergies with EWSI partners across the world,” said Rick Fine, founder and president of Fine Resources, Inc., in the press announcement.
