The company announced today it has appointed Andrew J. Zappas to the position of vice-president for U.S. sales, reporting directly to the CEO, Jed Kennedy. He will assume direct responsibility for sales of Viking’s 3DHD Vision Systems product line in the United States.
Mr. Zappas has a wealth of experience. From 1977 to 2006, he held a variety of sales and sales management position with medical device makers, including Baxter, Cabot Medical, Gyrus Medical, Circon/ACMI and Spacelabs Corporation. The majority of this time Mr. Zappas was involved with medical capital equipment sales, with an emphasis on visualization.
From 2006 to 2008, Mr. Zappas was president and CEO of the U.S. operations of Gyrus/ACMI, which represented over half the company’s global sales. Most recently he has been a consultant to Viking Systems regarding the restructuring of its U.S. sales operations. During the past four months, Mr. Zappas was the architect of the recent changes put forward by Viking Systems.
