Douglas Lake Minerals Inc. (DLKM) Offers Progress Update on Drilling at Kwandege Target

Douglas Lake Minerals, which has taken a decidedly sharp focus on its acreage position in Tanzania at its two main gold projects, recently announced that the drilling program at Kwandege passed the halfway mark, with 54% of Phase I completed Nov. 1.

COO of DLKM, Dr. Reyno Scheepers, expressed his confidence in the assembled team and praised their ability to maintain momentum over the past six weeks, even in the face of extremely the inordinately heavy rainfall of this year’s short rainy season. Scheepers also indicated that the establishment of an ISO certified environment for rapid assay would cut turnaround time on gold assay dramatically.

The Company has taken serious steps to turn over the analytical backlog, while speeding up overall drilling rates by bringing in a mobile preparation unit to be overseen by a certified and accredited international laboratory. Additionally, DLKM has engaged a third, dual-purpose diamond core/reverse circulation rig (anticipated to be on-site Nov. 15), as well as an external methodology for assay outside the Republic of Tanzania, using a second accredited lab for sample prep.

These efforts place the Company in a much more independent position for advancing development across the Handeni district, with Kwandege representing the second major target in the area. Kwandege has some 8,856 feet of the planned 16.4k feet of diamond core drilling now complete, with 18 of 35 holes in and progress on subsequent holes underway, with 19 and 20 currently being drilled.

Global control and inspections giant SGS Laboratories have been sent a total of 3,529 samples from the drilling for gold assay, with another 511 samples also being sent off to ALS Laboratories in nearby Mwanza. The majority of holes drilled thus far (17) were on the main anomaly (low resistivity), with highest concentrations in garnet amphibolite gneiss associated with sulphides, quartz veining and shear zones, as well as a sheared contact into felsic gneiss. The three holes targeting the second anomaly (high chargeability) returned highly enriched sulphide concentrations and gneissic intervals.

With intentions to release an update on the second Handeni target at Magambazi hill in the near future, DLKM is putting out buzz worthy gold development news from the East African coast. For more information, visit the Company’s website at: www.DouglasLakeMinerals.com
