MMRGlobal (MMRF.OB) and Kodak to Launch New Digital Medical System

Today at the Medical Group Management Association Annual Conference, Kodak and MMRGlobal announced a plan to launch the latest version of the MMRPro system as the age of digital medical records continues to evolve. Kodak and MMRGlobal are industry leaders in this transition and this new system, which is supported by KODAK’s Scan Station Pro 550, is one of the latest technologies to keep the companies at the cutting edge of the transformation.

The transitional scanning solution is designed to assist doctors’ offices and other medical practices smoothly and simply convert patient billing, forms and other medical documents into easily managed and accessed digital documents.

The KODAK Scan Station Pro 550 utilizes proprietary technologies to harness the power of KODAK Capture Pro Software to compliment the MMRPro Software to make the conversion extremely efficient through a completely secure web-based platform. The System has been designed using a GUI touch panel which, when combined with the MMRPro technologies, enables for medical documents to be transmitted to MMRPro seamlessly with the push of a single button where the documents are organized and filed for future use by medical staff or patients through encrypted permissions. Updates to the files can be made through mediums including fax, email or telephone. Patients can also view or upload more documentation in real-time via any computer connected to the network.

Brian Bagan, Director, Business Development, Document Imaging, United States and Canada, Kodak’s Business Solutions and Services Group, stated, “The solution with MMR is an example of how Kodak works with its network of Independent Software Vendor partners to create strategic, specific applications that do more at the point of capture.” Mr. Bagan continued, “Medical offices and other industries can use transactional scanning solutions to help automate their internal business processes, as well as improve the information sharing practices across offices.”

Bob Lorsch, CEO of MMRGlobal, commented, “MMR and Kodak have created proprietary and innovative technologies to provide a strategic, cost-effective and easy-to-use solution to help healthcare providers convert their paper-based medical records into digital files. This is an entry-level step to full EHR deployment that includes an e-prescribing module and an integrated patient portal, giving patients timely access to their personal health information through MMRGlobal’s MyMedicalRecords PHR.” Mr. Lorsch further stated, “The transactional KODAK Scan Station Pro 550 features a customized solution using the capture and output capabilities found in KODAK Capture Pro Software, including barcodes, OCR, MICR and others. Working hand in glove with MMRPro software, now we can meet the needs of small medical offices, group practices, surgery centers, and small hospitals that rely heavily on using transactions-based processes and forms, including patient billing, prescription data, and medical charts.”
