Artificial Life, Inc., a company that develops, markets, and retails software applications and technologies for wireless communications and mobile devices around the world, recently announced its current title sales, download figures, and important ranking statistics for its feature phone and smartphone apps.
As of March 31, 2010, Artificial Life has amassed over 58 million downloads, which include downloads for the iPhone/iPod touch, iPad, Android, Java, and Windows Phone 7. The top title alone has been downloaded more than 7.45 million times, with the second and third largest gaining 3.63 million and 3.61 million downloads respectively. The average number of downloads for the games that are developed by Artificial Life totals over 760,000.
Artificial Life’s games have achieved the #1 spot on the Apple App Store Top Charts in more than 74 countries, or 83% of all the offered countries, gaining many mentions in specialized App Store categories such as “What We’re Playing” and “New and Noteworthy”.
The company is gaining magnificent results after entering the rapid-growing iPad market. For example, since the launching of the new Linkin Park 8-Bit-Rebellion! iPad edition in April of 2010, the game has kept its position in the US Top 20 of the Paid Music App chart and has even placed as a Top 10 paid iPad app in many countries of the world. The company’s iPad games have also stayed in the Top 50 overall paid app charts many months following their release dates. The ever-popular iPhone games Amateur Surgeon, Red Bull Racing Challenge, and iSink U have all been carried to the iPad platform with enhanced features and improved gameplay.
Among the 36 titles produced for iPhone, 26 are based, licensed, and branded as intellectual property for various licensors while 10 titles are based upon Artificial Life’s proprietary IP. The games have been seen sold in 90 countries total around the world. The distribution of the games in terms of region are as follows: 43% in North America, 34% in Europe and Asia, 18% in Asia Pacific, 3% in Latin America, and 2% in the Middle East. The Top 5 countries in download numbers are The US, the UK, France, Germany, and Canada.
“By reaching the nearly 60 million download milestone, 2011 has started off strongly for Artificial Life, and we will build on the momentum generated in Q1. Our creative team has many more ideas and concepts for the remainder of the year and is working diligently to deliver even more high quality, innovative games and apps to our customers,” said Eberhard Schoneburg, CEO of Artificial Life, Inc.
