KeyOn Communications Holdings Inc. is one of the largest providers of wireless broadband, satellite and voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) in the United States. The company primarily targets underserved markets with populations generally less than 50,000 people in western and mid-western states.
The company announced today the closing of the acquisition of certain wireless broadband networks and subscribers in east central Texas from ERF Wireless Inc. Historically, the acquired networks have demonstrated consistent revenues and currently generate positive earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization. It is expected that KeyOn will receives the benefits of the positive EBITDA immediately.
KeyOn Communications currently operates networks in Texas next to some of the networks being acquired. The company expects to expand its presence around those networks which meshes nicely with its overall corporate expansion strategy. This acquisition will represent the ninth acquisition of network assets and subscribers since the inception of “Rural UniFi” in the fourth quarter of 2009. It is also KeyOn’s thirteenth acquisition overall.
