Solar Energy Initiatives Inc. has business lines in solar project development, distribution and workforce training. The company announced today that it has initiated the first class of its solar technical school located in Jacksonville, Florida. The new school is funded by stimulus dollars provided to the company by collaborating public partners.
The specialized vocational courses offered at the school are the core element of the company’s “Renew the Nation” initiative. This is Solar Energy Initiatives’ nationwide effort to restore the US economy through the market adoption of solar power at the state and local level. The classes will target members of the construction industry and related trades affected by the economic downturn in an effort to re-train and re-deploy these people into the solar industry. The eight-week classes will provide attendees with the tools and technical knowledge to become certified solar technicians.
In addition to the new Jacksonville school, Solar Energy Initiatives is currently working with the state of South Carolina and the North Eastern Strategic Alliance (NESA) on a solar academy training center to be located in Williamsburg County, South Carolina. This solar technology campus will assist the company and South Carolina in workforce development, job creation and economic development through the use of solar energy technologies.
Solar Energy Initiatives’ management believes that their experienced employees and teachers combined with the financial backing of both state governments and the Federal government provide students with the best vocational solar education on the market. The company believes that the rapidly increasing demand for alternate energy solutions, like solar, present a significant vocational learning opportunity for people looking to change careers.
