Located in Scottsdale, Arizona, NutraCea holds many patents and has become a global leader in production and utilization of stabilized rice bran which allows the young company to create food and nutrition products from a waste by-product. NutreCea has been very successful in a short period of time and one of the major reasons for this is their strong corporate team. Today, NutraCea took a major step towards enhancing their future with the announcement that Leo G. Gingras has been promoted to President.
While currently the Company COO, Gringras was promoted to the position of President by NutraCea Board of Directors on February 25, 2010. Gingras came to NutraCea after 18 years at Riceland Foods Inc. which is the largest rice miller and rice oil manufacturer in the United States. At Riceland, Gingras managed several hundred workers and business units with sales of over $320 million. In this new position, Gingras will take a more active role in partnering with NutraCea Chairman and CEO W. John Short.
When asked what the appointment of Gingras will mean to NutraCea, Short was quoted as saying, “Leo is a key member of our management team and one of the few true industry specialists in development of value added rice based products. His promotion is a confirmation of the significant contributions Leo has made to NutraCea since joining our organization and his importance to the future of our business. I deeply appreciate his continuing leadership and dedication to our company and look forward to collaborating with him and other members of management as we continue to reposition NutraCea.”
In addition to promoting Gingras to President, the NutraCea Board of Directors also appointed William J. Cadigan to the position of Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining NutraCea in July of 2009, Cadigan had been with Tatum, LLC since 2004 where he served in numerous business and financial executive positions. When asked about Cadigan assuming the role of CFO, Short stated, “We are most pleased to have Bill assume the role of CFO. His diversified business experience and financial expertise uniquely qualify him for this key position. NutraCea will continue to benefit from his sound guidance and financial acumen going forward.”
The NutraCea Board of Directors also announced that Kody Newland, who serves as Senior Vice-President of Sales, signed a new contract which will keep him at NutraCea through March 2012. With nearly three decades of experience, Newland is a renowned leader in his industry and keeping him on board at NutraCea was a major objective for the Board of Directors.
