Franklin Wireless (FKWL.OB) Announces Worldwide Launch of U210

Franklin Wireless Corp., a leading developer/marketer of wireless communications devices, today announced the worldwide launch of its U210 USB modem, a single-mode device using EVDO (Evolution Data-Optimized) Rev.A technology, providing the next level of wireless data access for on-the-road notebook and other computers. The U210 was previously launched to a limited number of carriers, but is now available to all of Franklin’s worldwide customers.

The U210’s slim design hides its impressive power and flexibility. It supports SMS and operates with Windows, Macintosh, and Linux operating systems. It also contains a built-in GPS receiver. In addition, its microSD memory slot enables simultaneous use of the 210 as an external flash drive for your computer. Where CDMA EVDO 1x.Rev.A and AWS networks are available, the U210 delivers superior data rates, giving users the power to send and receive email with large file attachments, play interactive games, and download high-resolution pictures, video and music files. As if that weren’t enough, its embedded software eliminates the need for an installation CD.

Franklin CEO, David Lee, said of the launch, “Building on the initial success of our U210 among subscribers of Franklin’s limited carrier partners, we’re pleased to expand this product’s reach and bring a more versatile connection device to mobile users around the world. Not only is the U210 loaded with innovative features, it also offers the sought-after compact design that mobile users embrace.”

Franklin is well known for designing and selling broadband high-speed wireless data communication products, such as 3G and 4G wireless modems and modules. The company focuses primarily on wireless broadband USB modems, providing a convenient way for wireless subscribers to connect to broadband networks with any laptop or desktop PC. The company recently opened its first regional office in Asia, and has expanded its R&D and product design capabilities through a strategic investment in South Korea based Diffon Corporation.

With its products at the convergence of wireless communications, mobile computing, and the Internet, Franklin Wireless is clearly positioned for the future.
