The Bowser Report – Daily Mover Alert January 8

Today, The Bowser Report issued a daily mover alert on Direct Insite (DIRI) and Nova Lifestyle (NVFY), both of which lost more than 10% for the day.

Surprise, surprise! DIRI is a daily mover. Lately, the company has been bouncing back and forth between $0.55 and $0.65 per share. Each time it closes on one edge of that range, we alert it.

Our analysis from yesterday holds true. Consider DIRI with its Bowser Rating of 8, but be wary due to the volatility and inability to fill limit orders due to low volume. It is a very speculative investment at this point.

I don’t think NVFY has been alerted in the past. In any case, the company fell just over 10% on light volume today, hitting its 52-week low intraday.

Over the past three months, NVFY has had trouble finding a footing and is down 23% over that period. NVFY has struggled to post consistent results from a net income perspective, but much of that inconsistency is due to a non-cash change in fair value of warrant liability.

In any case, the stock is not doing too well. It is certainly not helped by the fact that there is uncertainty surrounding China, and NVFY (although a US-based company) conducts the vast majority of its business in China.

With a Bowser Rating of 9, NVFY might be one to consider at these lows. However, be conscience of the stock’s current downtrend and the effect that China’s turmoil will have on shares. With that said, those with holdings should mind the Game Plan. Those without should treat this as a more speculative buy despite its rating.
