Command Center, Inc. (CCNI) Sends Thousands to Assist with Sandy Cleanup

Command Center, a national provider of on-demand and temporary staffing solutions, today announced its part in the massive cleanup efforts in multiple areas affected by Hurricane Sandy.

The company’s Disaster Recovery Services division is deploying more than 700 workers daily to assist areas ravaged by the storm that devastated the Northeastern United states last month. Command Center said it responded “quickly and efficiently” to requests for assistance from about 15 disaster relief contractors, primarily in the states of New Jersey and New York.

Operating through its two recently established field offices in New Jersey, Command Center currently is recruiting and qualifying workers, and has already processed applications for more than 3,000 individuals wanting to participate in recovery efforts.

“Our response to this crisis is an excellent demonstration of logistics at the highest level in temp staffing,” Glenn Welstad, Command Center’s chairman and CEO stated in the press release. “When an emergency hits or disaster strikes, there are so many moving pieces that have to come together right away to meet the challenge. As part of the design of our ongoing business model at Command Center, we have experienced people and sophisticated systems that are capable of organizing and mobilizing large numbers of our Field Team Members (FTMs) for multiple site locations, often within a day or two, if necessary.”

At least 24 states were affected by the storm, which left a daunting wake of damage, including flooding in streets, tunnels and subway lines, and cutting power to thousands.

Welstad added that the company would issue periodic updates on its hurricane cleanup and recovery efforts.
